Kendall County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD), formed in 1947, provides assistance and resource information about soil, water and related natural resources.

Today, Illinois is home to 97 Soil and Water Conservation Districts which were commissioned under the “Soil and Water Conservation Act” (70 ILCS 405) of 1937.

The IUM Field Manual for inspection of Erosion & Sediment Control Best Management Practicesis finally complete! It is a great resource and is intended for use as a technical reference by developers, contractors, planners, engineers, consultants, government officials and others involved in inspection of soil erosion and sediment control best management practices on construction sites in Illinois. Hard copies are now available at our office as well as at SWCD offices across Illinois. Additionally, the Field Manual is available electronically.
